How many members are on a property at one time?
Only one hunt party will be on the property on any given day. The average size of a hunt party is 1.5 people. We manage and record who hunts on which property and when they are there, by using an on-line reservation system. The member goes on-line and reserves a property for the day or days they want to use it. Once the property is reserved it will not be available to any other member.
Can the landowner hunt on his or her property?
Yes. Although we would like to have exclusive rights, we are able to accommodate landowners and some family that would like to continue hunting their property. We often suggest that we set aside a section of property to keep for your personal use but every situation is different and we have a couple ways to work with.
How does WisconsinHuntingLease.com manage the game on these properties?
WisconsinHuntingLease.com is committed to leaving properties in the same as or better than condition as when we found it. To achieve this goal we use another feature of the reservation system called Harvest Reports. Members must turn in harvest reports with in 48 hours of visiting a property. The reservation system will not allow the member to make another reservation with out first completing their harvest report for the last property they visited. The harvest report tells us what was seen or harvested on a property and provides a forum for members to share their opinions of the property. The harvest reports are also a valuable tool that lets us watch for over hunting or a decline in game sightings. The harvest reports are shared with the landowners on monthly basis. Your personal land manger will have follow-up conversations with you to hear your continuous input on how the program is working for you and how we can make it better.
What type of land is WisconsinHuntingLease.com looking for?
We are looking for all types and sizes. Of course, woodlots for hunting deer, turkey and small game are of high interest. However, we all know picked cornfields can be great for waterfowl and cattails and CRP land can be great for pheasant and deer. Deer hunting is by far, the biggest event in our group. However, our membership has a variety of interests, from pheasant hunting to waterfowl hunting to turkey hunting in the spring and everything in between, included fishing and camping opportunities. We have members who are experienced and looking for trophies, to guys looking for serenity in the outdoors on the weekends away from work. We also have experienced sportsmen who are now looking for a quiet, safe and productive place to get their kids involved. Having land that can support our member’s outdoor needs is what we are looking for. A section that is often overlooked may be perfect for a guy trying to get away from the office or to teach his child about the outdoors.
